The Spectrum is Miller’s trademark line of plasma cutters. There are 6 base models which provide a maximum cut that ranges from 1/8″ all the way up to 1 1/4″. All of these welders have a pilot arc circuit, and can be operated from generator.



The first model is the Spectrum 125C. This is a 12 amp rated machine that comes with a built in air compressor, so that no external air supply is required. It’s capable of cutting 1/8″ mild steel or stainless steel, and 1/16″ aluminum. This plasma cutter is typically used in home shops, autobody shops, and for light construction.



Next are the Spectrum 375, and Spectrum 375 Extreme Models. In terms of power output, these two models are identical. They’re both rated for 27 amps, and are capable of a 3/8″ cut in mild steel and stainless steel, and a 1/4″ cut in aluminum. Some differences between the two are that the Spectrum Extreme has Auto-Line – the ability to automatically set the voltage without rewiring the machine. It also comes in a different case, and is much lighter than the stock 375 model, 18 pounds versus 55 pounds.



The Spectrum 625 is a 40 amp machine that’s capable of cutting 1/2″ stainless steel and mild steel, and 3/8″ aluminum. It’s the largest of the single phase plasma cutters, and has built in power factor correction.



The Spectrum 2050 and 1000 models are both capable of being powered by either single phase or 3 phase power. The 2050 is rated at 55 amps, and has a 7/8″ cut capacity in mild and stainless steel, and 5/8″ in aluminum. The Spectrum 1000 is rated at 80 amps, and has a cut capacity of 1″ in mild and stainless steel, and 7/8″ in aluminum.



Finally, the 3 phase powered Spectrum 1251 is a 100 amp plasma cutter that’s capable of cutting 1 1/4″ thick mild steel or stainless steel, and 1″ thick aluminum. It’s got the largest cutting capacity of all the Spectrum Plasma cutters.
